Two wheeler driving

Dear Sir,
I have come back to India from Dubai after 15 years and when I compare the driving conditions at Chennai with that 15 years back, I must say it is quite appalling!
First, the number of vehicles on the road has increased in astronomical proportions.
Second, the number of two wheelers far outnumber the four wheelers.
Third, there is no rule what so ever for the two wheelers who zigzag on the roads as if they are on formula One race.
Instead of keeping to the left of the road, they drive anywhere on the road left, right and centre simply crisscrossing jeopardising their lives . They make such manoeuvres dangerously hoping that the motorists will apply the brakes and they can go scot free.
It is high time the Traffic department officials do something to curb this menace and make them drive in an orderly manner to smoothen the traffic system.
They should be made to drive only on the left side of the road and only for turning right or taking U turn, they can change their lanes that too with right indication signs.
Hope the officials do some thing to stop the present chaotic traffic in Chennai.
Thanks,
G.S.Siva Kumar

Roads or Battle field

Dear Trafic police,

A frustrated chennaiite (indian) with our discipline on roads wirting this complaint.

why is that people are obeying traffic rules is it a failure with public to be responsible also the fact they are ready to take risks or it is just that they dont know that they are . or it is the FAILURE OF TRAFFIC POLICE..

Answer is it is mix of everything.Well i would also say a major share of the chaos should go to Traffic police.
simply because the police have powers to do anything. They should initiate stricter laws..Some corrupt officers who are not willing to be systematic which deprives them of bribes.
We have all the technology in the world what stops them implementing the laws...

Driving or Riding in indian roads is becoming like a BATTLE FIELD which is a shame there is no guarantee that we will reach the desstination hurt or dead...

Some of the cheapest mistakes i am seeing that public dont even know they are doing a mistake
1.Not stopping in Red or stopping before the stop line....This is so idiotic as pedestrians cannot cross in the designated areas..
2. Taking a cut beside a vehicle in front of you if it is slowing down for variuos reasons...This is lane indicipline
3.Not giving way for pedestrians.
4.Not slowing down or stopping if someone or a vehicle is crossing at quite a distance.
5.Honking all the way till destination can traffic police atleast stop this...
6.The most silliest thing to take a right in a road which is not having a median people are now going to the right extreme . SO idiotic . The incoming vehicle supposed to take left cannot do it..creating a mini jam. In india thought we should keep left..

Some action on these will ensure we are safe. I dont think i am making a difficult request.

Stricter laws only can help.

Thanks
Krishna

speed breaker at CIT Nagar 3rd street

Sir,
The speed breaker at CIT Nagar 3rd street just before joining with Mount Road is very high having a width about 0.5 meter only and it is reducing the speed of vehicles going to Mount Road. Lot of buses, cars, two wheelers are going to Mount Road. The speed breaker shall be of other types which shall have a width of 3 meter and lengh equal to the width of road, so that number of vehicles passing through this speed breaker in a particular time will be increased.
Yours sincerely,
A.K.Kannan, AE, All India Radio, Chennai.

nuisance by platform food stall, m/cycle/car parking on part of 10th main road, Annanagar, Ch 40

As a long term resident of TAS Enclave, I fully accept the views expressed againt this complaint - this stall has been a real nuisance from very early mornings till late nights - people loitering and motorcycles parked everywhere- with Shanthi colony road being used because of Metro Work on 2nd Avenue, traffic is very heavy and Traffic Police is missing most times to control the traffic.Traffic of cars and people crossing towards TAS Enclave and 10th Main Road are hindered by this vendor on the platform and by the Auto stand opposite this illegal shop.
Request the officials concerened to visit this area ,atleast during the peak evening hours, to see personally the difficulties faced by all and to take necessary steps.

A very concerned Resident of TAS Enclave.

Unneccesary waiting at signal

Almost all the days , We have to face the traffic signal right at the Tidel park signal which i use to travel from madhya kailash towards perungudi , There was a huge delay to show green signal as the traffic was piled upto 3 - 4 kms from tidel park.

Once the green signal falls within a fraction of seconds again its turning to red signal, Seriously cant able to understand whats going on with the traffic police.

But the sad thing is publics who were coming from thiruvanmiyur and besant nagar use to cross the road almost all the times, WHY THIS PARTIALITY ??????????? even though there was very less free flow traffic on the thiruvanmiyur/ besant nagar towards that signal.

Something went wrong with the traffic polices due to politics were well played here. may be they were instructed to do that way no one knows.

Its a kind of ridiculous partiality which needs to be broken with the immediate effect.

nuisance by platform food stall, m/cycle/car parking on part of 10th main road, Annanagar, Ch 40

Respected Sirs,
We residents of the TAS enclave, Annanagar (Chennai 40), residing in the various apartments and individual houses wish to represent following for your kind perusal and early remedy.
From Shanthi colony (IV avenue) road, the approach road to TAS enclave through the 10th main road has become very congested with traffic. It is becoming extremely difficult for our residents to manoeuvre our cars while negotiating turn from the IV Avenue through the 10th main road, adjoining Murugan grocery stores. The reasons are as follows:
1. There is a platform cart vendor who seem to have permanently pitched his selling outlet for tea/and snacks at the entrance of the 10th main road (southern wing)/Shanthi colony. Due to this, there are invariably crowded people standing around his sale cart, causing nuisance to the local residents. Further, adjoining this cart vendor, are motor cycles parked in hap-hazard manner, restricting traffic movement.
2. It seems very convenient for many people attending their business in the area, to park their cars on either side of this part of the 10th main road, which we strongly resent. This seriously impairs clear vision for a driver negotiating his car either from TAS enclave or from Shanthi Colony to enter this section of 10th main road.
3. Quite often, we notice vehicles not belonging to TAS enclave residents are parked in the TAS enclave main roads, and we would be happier if such vehicle entry could be screened by Police patrol officials, as to their identity and business.
There is indeed a K-4 police station “may I help you” booth, invariably manned, but seemingly unable to take action to redress grievances of the local residents at their level.
We request you to kindly look into this spot of Anna nagar and take speedy action to appropriately relocate the platform cart vendor, cooking and selling his edibles.
Also we request you to regulate parking of the cars on one side of the street only, without causing hindrance to the living residents of TAS enclave commuting through this part of 10th main road.
We would be highly obliged for your department taking a swift action to redress our difficulties.

Thanking you

Yours faithfully,
TAS enclave Residents, Annanagar, Chennai

HIGH BEAM LIGHT -PANIC TO MOTORISTS

Now a days in chennai, Traffic police don't care if any motorists drive the vehicle without following motor vehicle traffic rules.Every one face this problem and end with argument of no solution left.I am going to complain this and very sure that every gentle motorists will agree with my complain.
We all know that under traffic rule"HIGH BEAM HEAD LIGHT CAN ONLY BE USED DURING HIGHWAYS DRIVING AND 'NOT' IN CITY DRIVING".Not only private vehicles with yellow board and SUVs but motorcyclists also don't hesitate to drive high beam light and modified high beam light. It leaves more surprised that they pass at every traffic signal knowingly unnoticeable by traffic police. This makes a big threat to the compain towards accident free city. The vehicles faces a big challenge to keep control high beam light project on his eyes from upcoming vehicle. This became a reason for accident at night.HONOURABLE 'DGP TRAFFIC Mr.KARUNA SAGAR in an interview with T O I has told that usage of HIGH BEAM in city is 'PUNISHABLE'.Is it implemented in the city?I believe Mr. SAGAR will take suitable action against those who don't follow this rule and against those traffic police who pass them at traffic signal knowingly.

Vehicles entering at no entry area

Respected Traffic Commissioner
Sir there is already a no entry indication at Oliver road near Vivekananda college, in Mylapore. Sir the no entry sign boards center medians made of steel to block the no entry area is suddenly been removed and the concrete bricks kept to block the No Entry area is also been broken and partly removed. Due to this Heavy vehicles buses and cars coming from Luz corner moving towards Vivekananda college face huge problem because of motorcycles autos and other light vehicles move towards the No Entry and enter Veeraperumal Koil Street and make that street very congested Already that area is crowded because of fish market vehicle parking and garbage dumping area. Due to all these school children and public get affected lot. I kindly request the traffic department to place the removed steel center medians and properly fix the concrete bricks at the No Entry area and place a No Entry sign board I kindly request you to take necessary steps to solve the problem. Due to this No Entry problem often dead bodies carried to the burial ground at DGP office from Alwarpet and teynampet is carried through Veeraperumal Koil street and create unnecessary problem in the shops at the street. I kindly request you to do the needful at the earliest. .

Thanking you

Cars parked on foot path

Since Dec 13th I had made 5 complaints to the police control '100' of cars parked on foot path on plot 196. Ayyavu Street, Ayyavu Naidu Colony, Aminjikarai. No action was taken till I called again '100' on Dec 15th at 1.14pm & 4.46pm. At 4.49pm I receive a call from the police officer mobile No: 94881 81547 that he is taking action. Immediately the police officer hands over his mobile to the car owner violating the rule to speak to me.
Police should take care that never to reveal the complainant identity or phone number or even make the offender speak to the complainant using his police mobile phone.
This will in turn create serious problems, enmity between the offender & the complainant. The police must act discreetly.
Such offender parking the car on the foot path may be warned twice & the car impounded or owner fined if violates the law again.

Auto Parked on the Road in Kuppusamy colony,Alandur, chennai

There is a auto (Registration Number : TN 22 CD 7069) which is parked in kuppusamy colony, Alandur on the road blocking the road. This Auto is standing for more than 1 week , no one in the area knows whose Auto it is. We are not able to take the car out of the colony even for emergencies, it is really difficult for us. Please help us to clear the Auto from the Kuppusamy colony and further more in kuppusamy colony vehicles are parked like this on both sides of the road often and it is difficult to drive vehicles on the road with small inch gap for vehicle to move. It would be better a sign board is kept on the road not to park atleast on one side of the road.
