Personal Loan

Again they proves that the HDFC bank is the most worst bank in this world. Before applying for a personal loan, I had asked the (so called tele caller executive) Kusuma if she needs any further documents, but in typical marketing way she said no. After submitting my application I got a call to provide the documents one by one. Despite of being HDFC customer for 4 years, I was asked to forward the telephone bill provided by service provider for verification. Again they were so stubburn that they needed a forwarded mail and not just the attached copy.

They promise 48 hours for loan processing but its been more than a week. Nothing has happened. Everyday they are giving false promises.

Tomorrow is the last day, if nothing happens, I will close all my account with this Bank and do not need any loans from such people.

To HDFC people who check this site to hide their mistakes :- Do not ask me to send a mail on [email protected] Even there I would find same shameless people with no customer service skills.
They are so shameless that they are not even ready to accept their mistake and putting blame on me. Also they are not understanding a simple english, where I had to repeat the stuff over and over again.

No information to customers & bank auto debits

HDFC Bank salary accounts are auto converted to regular savings bank account if salary is not credited for 3 months. There is no notification (an sms or any mails) to us regarding this. They landed up auto debited 827.25rs. from my account as penalty for non-maintanence of annual quarterly balance.

While I was totally unaware of their conversion of my salary account to normal SB account, this auto debit is a shock. The mails they sent, is very generic not trying to answer the exact question raised. The customer care executive stated to me while enquired over phone "HDFC bank has huge customer base. We cannot be sending you intimation on conversion and other stuff. That is not out botheration" This sounded rude and lack of customer friendliness to me!!

There is no such intimation of auto-conversion either mentioned in their internet sit or welcome kit or any mails/letters sent to me.

What is the way out from this?

Amount Rs.25 is deducted from my Account

Amount 25 is getting deducted with the description NWD DEC CHG (ATM Withdrawal charges) eventhough my account was opened as salary account
I have not used my ATM Card more than 5 transactions in non HDFC Bank

Money deduction from the Salary A/c as AQD


My HDFC a/c no. is 00751140064734, it's a salary ac from my previous organization, it is a zero frills account. HDFC bank has deducted Rs. 827.25 as AQD. Please refund the amount or send me the letter, why HDFC has deducted this amount from the account.

Misleading Promitional Offer as zero Balance account and Deduct the money for not have adequate balance


I happened to see a program in the channel last sunday with same kind of compliant on HDFC promotional offer.

Let me Introduce my , My name is Anish working with an MNC as a business controller. below is the short description of incedents.

It all started when HDFC Bank deducted 3300 INR from my account saying that i have not kept minumum quarterly balance for the account(Account No.: 12681930004096-HDFC bank Bangalore) which was opened based on the confirmation from the sales executive as a "zereo balance account". I called up the customer care 3 to 4 times to know the status ( ref code- BAN089431) one day one guy called up and said HDFC cannot reinstate the amount as this was opened before one year. Going back to the sequence of incedents from the opening of account.

Sales excutive assurance of Zero balance account.
Based on his assurance I have opened the account with 25k
Receieved the welcome kit , Welcome letter states that I have to maintain a balance of 25k or a fixed deposit of minimum 50k.
Destroyed the Debit card and Cheques
Called the bank and asked them to close the account.
Initiated the process by submitting the closure request @ koramangal branch bangalore
Next day recieved a call from the Empire Infantray road banch asking not to close the account as this was the special offer for me and the acount would be ZERO balance account.
Last month (sep 2010) transferred 55k to this account and 17th HDFC charged RS 3,309 for non maintenence AQB.(below give the transcations)
I appriciate if you coud broadcast in the channel, so that Banks would have a check on their employees for the wrong commitments.

Personal Load


I applied for personal loan in hdfc, when the loan sanction time they told me that, 6,00,000 with 15% rate of interest without processing fee because its higher amount, when i received the amount.

then i called customer care, then they provided info like that
your load amount is 540,000 with 16% processing fee is 2.5%.

, they took my sign in too many places, so that they can chang any time any thing, what i suggest is please ask them to fill before siging any where.

I opened an HDFC Bank account (salary a/c) in 2005 and along with the account, i was offered a Lifetime free credit card no ################. This card was never used by me in 3 years and upon expiry, it was re-issued to me and couriered at my old mailing address (by this time, i had moved house). The card went into wrong hands and was misued and suddenly in the month of July 2009, i started receiving calls from collections team to pay outstanding of Rs.16923. Since i never used the card, i immediately informed the customer care to cancel the card. I proactively called the bank and discussed my case. The collections deptt of HDFC Bank harrased me on phone and made my life difficult. Since they were forcing me to pay for transactions that I never made, I requested them to courier me the merchant copy of the credit card transaction slips. The bank failed to produce any and to my horror deducted around INR 20,000 from my bank account directly. This is a case of chaeating. Since then, I have contacted many senior people in HDFC Bank including the Branch Head of ITPL Branch but he kept avoiding response to my mails. My savings account has been debited of around Rs 20,000 without providing enough proof of transactions.

I am planning to launch consumer court case for claiming damages resulting from misdeeds of HDFC Bank. I request you to highlight the matter in media and make general public aware what HDFC Bank is doing. This is sheer exploitation and needs to be stopped.

I am willing to provide additional evidences against HDFC, if required.

No one knows status of my SMART DRAFT Request.

I have a salary account with HDFC Bank.On August 7th 2010,i submitted a request to JP Nagar HDFC brach for a Smart draft(OD) facility & i was told i will get it in 15 working days.Today it is 13th September 2010 and no employee is able to tell the status.Moreover,bank charges some1000 rupees for this facility.But the time when i need the money if i dont get the same,them i am at loss.The brach people say that all approval happen from mumbai and they cannot help.So my question is that inspite of having salary account,i went thru back-ground checks etc,still i did not get the facility after 1 month.
Is this the kind of service HDFC provides to its account holders.

Account not activated

i filled the account opening form for salaried account on 23rd july and i was told that the account will be activated for withdrawl in 8 working days. Then, when the account was not activated even after 3 weeks, i approached the branch on 14th august. I was told that there is some sign mismatch problem and was told to approach the branch again to fill the signature change form. And now it's been 2 more weeks and no progress has been made. Furthermore, the bank never communicate anything to me. I have to reach them to know the status. What shall I do now? I have salary in my account that i can't withdraw.

Customer Service in Loan Dept

Dear Sir,
My name is Rakesh (Name changed), I applied for a Personal loan to HDFC bank due to very urgent requirement. I work for a consultancy named as ABC (name changed) but i am deputed at my client office which is a reputed Bank of USA & this is where i got a leaflet of HDFC bank with information about personal loan & a contact number of an agent named Dhanraj. With good hope i called the agent he took my details & he said he will callback. he called me back on 4th of august. Then he asked me to speak to his manager named Ashwini. I gave my Personal & Professional details very clearly to Ashwini. I told her that i Work for such and such consultancy and placed in such and such place, My take home salary is 25,000 per month , my total work experience is 21 months my designation is Technical Support Representative .
After listening to all the details Aswini said I can apply for the loan as i am Eligible. She asked me to submit few documents to the agent.
As i get my salary on 7th of every month i informed the agent that i will be able to give the latest salary slip after 7th of August. After this conversation even after telling that i will submit the documents the agent was calling almost on every day, which i thought a good customer service at least they remember their customer & concerned about them. The agent insists me to submit the document available on 7th of august i agreed and i met him on 7th i saw his HDFC ID card & submitted the documents i had. The agent asked me to sign on the application form & few other document like Loan Insurance & .Bank statement request form etc. I had trust as i saw the Bank ID card.
12th of August i got my Salary Slip for the month of July so i called the agent asked him to come & collect it. He came to a nearby place to my home & took the document. After waiting on 13th August whole day i called him on 14th August morning to ask the application status. He said he uploaded the document so the people from verification team will come on Monday to my home. On 14th August only someone called Salma called my referrals as they took one contact number of my relative in Bangalore & one banglorian local friend’s number. As per the agent information i took a day off from my office stayed at home just attend the bank verification agents. No body turned up on 16th of August. So in the evening of 16th August i called the agent & asked whether anybody will come today or not & i got a a 1st shock there when he said few documents are pending so my file came back to them so i have to submit my graduation certificate as i have less then 3 years of work experience. When i told this to Ashwini & asked why they wants this now as she did not tell me about this in the beginning when she knew that i have less than 3 years of work experience she started giving the medicine of Bank Policy & Procedure she said its bank procedure she can not do any thing she was not ready listen my concern. Any ways on 16th August only after finishing the conversation i scanned my Graduation Certificate & send it to Ashwini putting Dhanraj in CC.So on 17th I called the agent & asked whether he got my documents he said he will check & let me know. No update till afternoon i called back the agent in the evening & asked he said he got the documents & uploaded it so he tell me the status on 18th August. 18th August evening as usual i had to call the agent due to his consistency of not updating me on time. He said he will check with his manager & will get back to me. as expected he didn’t call me nor updated me with application status. So 19th morning again i called the agent but he said he has got no update i asked to speak to his manager but Ashwini did not come on the phone someone called Sultana who claims to be the Team Lead spoke to me & informed that as i have got less than 3years of work experience the application file not getting approval. And when asked what does that mean does that mean i will not get any loan Sultana said no i will get the Loan but it will take time as she has sent my application file to the Delhi Head Office for some kind of Waver, So she will get the update on 24th of August & accordingly she will update me. As i did not have any other option i agreed to her. (This is my 1st ever attempt to get a Loan i never ever applied for any kind of Loan).On 24th August with consistency no update till afternoon i had to callback. Spoke to Sultana she said the Head office in Delhi are not working as its a Holiday Rakhsa Bandhan. Again i agreed &.When i asked when can i get any update she said on 26th August when i asked why not on 25th she said 24th is holiday for her office so she won’t be working nor her team. Again i agreed as i still had faith on them. 25th as expected no callback i called back again in the afternoon again got disappointed as she was unable to give any update straight away she said she is waiting for the update from the head office so will let me know on 26th. this line is expected so again i called back Sultana i asked her about the status she said the file is still with head office & waver has not been given yet & as its month end Sultana asked me to wait till next month that is September2010. Now already i was running thin on patience when i asked her why this is happening isnt there any proper policy in place by the Bank she said its banks policy only. When i asked on what basis she is asking me to wait till September rudely she replied that this is Bank's Policy & if i can not wait then i can go to other banks for Loan & she will drop my file. As i am in urgent need of this loan i had listen to her but after disconnecting the phone line i realized what ever is happening is not Right. They are performing a foul practice so i called HDFC customer Care team spoke to Pramod in Loan support team thanks to him that he made me understand the procedure he said that no matter what the status of the Loan Application once i submit all the documents to agent the agent has to login & upload it & i will get a reference number a message on my phone but unfortunetly i have not got any kind of Message from HDFC bank. This was really shocking for me as signed on few documents & gave to the agent not sure what he is going to with it. So thought of putting it across the HDFC higher authority team.
Sir you won’t realize how important this Loan was for me. I told my Father the same i got to know that i am eligible for applying this loan as i knew that i have every thing in place & have all the documents required by the bank & assumed that will get the Loan. To be honest now i am not able to talk to my father properly due to Shame. I am really frustrated & disappointed. I am broken completely. This was my first ever attempt to get a Loan which turned out to be a Blunder.
Sir right now i have no hope of getting a loan but what i want or rather request you is to take STRICT Action against the employees who deceived me for days and purpose fully cheated me. Who are very unprofessional don’t deserve to be in a Bank. Sir I would be very much disappointed if no action taken against these people. Please take this as my humble request. If require i will take it further but really do want these kind of people making fool out of people. Bellow i am mentioning the details about the employees who I spoke to in HDFCBank.
And one more thing I would like to mention here is that I never got a answer from any of the above mentioned persons on the first call I kept them calling many time in fact I send them messages also but no reply. For your information i called the agent only for exactly 84time to get updates. so there is 84 calls made to Dhanraj only. You can check my cell phone details. One more request i want all my documents back please if loan application has not been processed. As I am really in scared to think what could happen with those document with my signature on it.

Note I have already send more than 4 mails and also a call to the customer care with no response.

First, there has been a deduction towards AQB, even if the bank had mentioned this (as stated by your customer care agent) I have NOT TAKEN COGNIZANT of this issue, as unless there is any discrepancy, I do not bother to read carefully any bank statements.

ICICI bank also had revised their AQB, and I had similar issue with them, but on contacting ICICI customer care, they agreed to reverse the amount (pleasantly so!) this facility is extended to all ICICI bank customers one time during the lifetime of the account. Naturally, after first instance it is the prerogative of the customer to maintain the stated AQB.

I request you to CLOSE MY ACCOUNT, as I do not want to deal with bank with rigid norms, which does not want to take into notice there are many customer friendly banks like ICICI.

Note, I shall be maintaining ZERO BALANCE henceforth, request your to close my bank account with immediate effect.

Repeated Calls

HDFC is the cheapest bank in India. I am getting calls for the past 6months. These guys have no shame at all even after repeated complaints to the DND registry, they keep calling. I have requested them a billion times to REMOVE my name from their call list but of no use. I get calls from 10.30 in the morning to 6 in the evening regurlarly.For God's sake please take some action against these pathetic ppl.

Harressment from Marketing

I have been getting daily calls from HDFC bank executives to apply for Credit card. I agreed couple of times and applied but never got any reply from them. However, the calls did not stop.

I decently requested them not to call my number and delete which never happened. I raised complaint at HDFC at <[email protected]> and have been following up. Every time they assure that my number will be deleted across all the branches in India and I will never get a call. However, still today I am getting calls. I have written number of mails to HDFC but still they do not seem to take any action.

Sir, request you to kindly help me to stop this harressment from HDFC.

HDFC Bank Car loan

HDFC bank as provided the worst services which can be offereed i have not recieved any updates and they dont even think of responding back to any of my queries .

I have reached out several times to there team to provide me with the details of there manager which again is never provided

I am unhappy with the way the following loan application was treated.
I was told i will have my cheque being disperesed on Saturday 19th
June 2010. Based on the same i had paid the rest of the money to the
showroom. I have been sending messages to the following number and i
have not recieved any +91 998098915 and no call backs since Friday
18th June 2010.

I was also provided this local bangalore number and was told please
contact if you need help,. 080 -66634247 and no one respons on the
following number and even if they pick the call they state the person
responsible is not available.

I am currently in midst of confusion if i need to continue with this
loan process or ask my Automobile show room to take it forward for me.
but the kind of service and expectattion which was sent was really
bad and would not want any one to go through this kind of behaviours
from the hands of your team.

I was one of the strong advocates of your bank and would always
recoomend HDFC but from here on my perception is completely shaken.

Harassment by Collection Department


I hold HDFC Bank Credit Card and it has quite a huge due, however I try my best to keep paying the min. amount dues on time.
Since last couple of months, my financial condition has detoriated and sometimes the payments get missed on time.
However I have informed the bank that I have no intention of making a default and I will continue paying the best possible that I can arrange at this point of time.

However the Collection Department is harassing a lot. Calling me was ok, but somehow they have got the mobile number of my landlord and they keep calling him and speak very very abusive language.

I request you advise as how should this situation be dealt. Are there any laws that they can have right to harass family/ friends ?

Two Wheeler Loan

I took a two wheeler loan from centurian bank of punjab (now HDFC Bank) in oct 2006. the loan was cleared in jan 2009. after clearance of loan also the bank has not provided me with the RC of my vehicle. Everytime i visit them they keep on making some excuses. its almost more than 1 years and 6 months but i havent recieved my RC. can anyone advise what i can do.

HDFC Bank is asking for payment even after Settlement

I am posting my grievance here in the hope that something positive may happen before I file a complaint in the Consumer Court.

I had a credit card from HDFC Bank with card number ############xxxx. Due to some financial problems I lapsed in the payments towards the card. Since then, however, I was paying minimum balance until May 2009 when I was offered a settlement of my dues. A settlement letter was issued dated 21/5/2009 bearing reference number S 0482020 for a sum of Rs. 23,100/- payable in installments. As per the settlement I was required to pay Rs.5,400/- cash on the same date as the settlement letter and Rs.2,500/- monthly from June 2009 till December 2009 via post dated cheques. I have paid all the amounts as per the settlement letter. I have the stamped receipts for all the amounts paid and also the bank statement showing the debit of the amounts.

However, as soon as I paid the amounts in full, I started receiving telephone calls from HDFC asking for payment claiming that the settlement has been invalidated. The curios thing being, if I ask the reason for the invalidation they immediately disconnect the call or say something like they have another call coming in and will call back. The next time it would be a different person who will repeat the same behaviour.
Meanwhile I received a letter from their Advocate, Ms. Vidya and I replied in detail my position and attached the copies of the settlement letter and the stamped receipts. But no reply has come from her yet.

Further, I received an email from their Customer Service Officer, Ms. Mary Lopez. I again furnished details of my case along with the screeshots of my bank statment clealy showing the amounts debited to HDFC Bank.

Last month the bank blocked a sum of Rs. 13,666.43 from my saving account. I also received a letter from HDFC Credit Card Division's Legal Manager stating that I haven't paid my credit card balance. No mention of my settlement or my numerous correspondences with them was mentioned.
I have sent a letter both to the Legal Manager as well as the Branch Manager detailing my plight. No reply has been received yet although it's been a week.

Yesterday I received a phone call from one Mr. Sridhar asking for payment who claimed to know the details of case and again parroted that my settlement was invalidated. As soon as I asked the reason he claimed he had an incoming call and will call back. No one has called back yet.
I am finally exasperated with this most unethical and immoral behaviour of the bank and have decided to file a complaint against them.

However before I do that let's hope this forum will be of some help. I am willing to furnish all the documents mentioned above.

Cheating the public for loan

Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to register a complaint on behalf of services provided to me by HDFC Bank.

I had applied for personal loan, providing all the necessary documents to the bank. After taking all the documents, the bank officials are least bothered on this issue. Already 20 days has passed and so far i havent received any response from them. I am even having the proof of acknowledgement for applying the personal loan.

I had submitted all the details to the Padmanabhanagar HDFC Branch, Bangalore.

If this is the case then why u cheat the public????

if you cant provide the service please tell us immediately so that we will go for the other banks.

Because of such incident i have circulated a notice in my office for hence forth not to go for HDFC Bank because of the irresponsible services provided by them.

Further i would also like to lodge a complaint in the police station regarding on the cheating act by your services.

Telemarketing Call


Last month i logged a complaint against HDFC as people have been calling me for personal loans and credit cards even after updating my name in do not disturb list.

I want to file a case against HDFC bank as i am still getting calls and messages for HDFC telemarketing. Please do let me know what is the process of this. I was assured that it would stop and a mail from HDFC bank was sent to my mail id [email protected]

Amount deducted for Mutual Fund account without account

HDFC Bank, Bangalore has deducted some amount from account.When i called them they told it is deducted for mutual fund account which actually i never opened. When i told them that i never opened any MF account they are telling me that i have to go to my home branch and close the account as the account is opened by me only. They did the same thing with some of my collegues here.

Worst in Customer Satisfaction

I had applied a new ATM debit card on 12-Apr-2010 through the bank representative in my office. While applying they informed me I will be receiving it in 8 days. Then I inquired on 19-Apr-2010 about my card since I haven't received till that date.They said your application haven't reached our bank.After three days(22-Apr-2010) they called me back and asked me to give new application and on (23-Apr-2010) I had given the new application. Then today I had called them and enquired about the status again they are saying that my application has not reached the bank.

What will they do I haven't made payment for my credit card on time? So whose responsibility is this?If there is problem with the representative means the bank should have rectified this when I am complaining for the first time?
